JOB PURPOSE

• This job description details the responsibilities and the general duties of the IT Pharmacy Technician (PT).

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific (80%)

1. Maintain Pharmacy IT and Automation systems by ensuring timely and accurate updates.
2. Take on the role of System Superuser and train pharmacy staff on the system usage.
3. Work closely with various System Supports and Pharmacy Users on troubleshooting, system enhancement and workflow design.
4. Collaborate with stakeholders across sections to ensure seamless implementation and maintenance of the IT systems.
5. Monitor billing functions process and ensures the cost and revenue of all stocks supplied are recovered.

General (20%)

1. Assists the pharmacist in the processing of medication orders for dispensing which includes typing, picking, packing, labelling and distribution of drug supplies to the wards and other hospital departments.
2. Dispenses medicines under the supervision of a pharmacist.
3. Assists in providing quality customer service.
4. Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
