McCarthy is hiring two Heavy Equipment Mechanics reporting to our Yard out of Chandler, Arizona. One role will be based out of Monroe, Louisiana for the first assignment.
We are also offering a sign-on bonus of $5,000.00. The first half payment will be distributed at 90 days, with second half being paid at 180 days of consecutive active employment.

Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair including but not limited to electrical, hydraulic, tracks, diesel engines and transmissions for a variety of construction equipment and crane types
- Maintain a safe shop work environment
- Effectively communicate equipment issues with supervisor to ensure customer satisfaction
- Operate/maneuver heavy equipment on site in a safe and effective manner
- Check daily to ensure equipment functions properly and in a safe manner
- Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored when not in use.
- Accurately order needed parts from vendors when necessary
- Operate and test equipment after repair
Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with a large construction company as a heavy equipment mechanic
- Thorough knowledge of equipment and safety processes used in commercial, civil and/or marine construction.
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance, storage, schematics, and diagrams.
- Necessary tools to perform the work assigned.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to weld and fabricate preferred.
- Ability to complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds.
- Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces
- Exhibit strong work ethic, teamwork, customer service, verbal, and written skills.
- Age 18+
- Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization.
- TWIC credentials and CDL highly preferred.
