Senior Manager/Assistant Vice President, Procurement (Category Management) is responsible for the development, implementation & delivery of direct and indirect sourcing strategies to maximise value for the organization. Manages strategic suppliers’ relationships and contracts to ensure delivery performance to agreed scope and service levels.
Strong analytical, program management, and collaboration skills are essential for success in this role, as it requires achieving desired outcomes through effective coordination and communication among stakeholders. The ability to strategically manage operations and negotiate will be key to success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements GTM strategies in various categories, which include project plans, stakeholder engagement and benefits tracking
- Responsible for delivery and compliance of RFx processes for procurement managed spend including tender management, supplier evaluations and negotiations,
- Conduct negotiations with suppliers and ensure supplier value proposition are accurately captured and applied
- Conduct rationalization of suppliers for categories in scope to maximise and optimise overall leverage with supply base
- Perform regular reviews of supply market trends and analyse spend to enhance category strategies
- Build relationship with business stakeholders to develop insights of potential categories and identify sourcing opportunities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate strategies are deployed and identify future requirements in alignment with business strategy
- Work closely with Procurement business partners to enable sourcing strategies and value-add projects
- Lead and motivate a high-performance team to deliver maximum value through strategic category and supplier management
Key Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering from a well-recognised Educational Institution.
- At least ten (10) years of experience in Procurement role, with logistics and fabrication exposure being a plus
- At least ten (10) years in sourcing and category management
- Strong knowledge of Procurement sourcing strategies, negotiation tactics and contract management
- Proven experience as program director or other managerial position
- Experience in change management will be advantageous
