Description
STV is a nationally recognized leader for delivering value and excellence in construction management, engineering, architecture, planning and environmental services, and is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Manager for either our office in New York, NY or White Plains, NY.
The ideal candidate would have over 10+ years of experience in planning, designing and constructing wastewater systems with an emphasis on asset management, sanitary and stormwater pumping systems, combined sewer overflow systems and/or general wastewater process.
Ideal candidate would be details-oriented and a technical leader.
Key responsibilities will include designing, administrating and managing multi-disciplined design and construction management assignments for wastewater and water resource projects. As a Wastewater and Water Resources Project Manager duties are:
- Manages engineering activities in the planning, study, design, construction, modification and maintenance of wastewater transmission and treatment facilities with emphasis on combined sewer overflows, asset management and pumping systems.
- Manages the development of and/or prepares facility reports and/or designs for major wastewater transmission, treatment, solids processing.
- Develop Asset Management plans in accordance with New York State DEC or other asset management processes.
- Directs the development of calculations and design drawings for specific areas..
- Plans and conducts work requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
- Devises new approaches to wastewater problems encountered.
- Function as project team leader, directing and supervising the work of other engineers and engineering technicians.
- Develops scopes of work for engineering consultant services contracts and evaluates proposals and bids. Manages study, design, bidding, construction and post-contract phase work done by consultants under engineering services contracts. Monitors and evaluates consultant performance.
- Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of engineering work.
- Administers construction and post-construction of major wastewater transmission, treatment, solids processing and support facilities by staff or consultants.
- Analyzes data necessary to support capacity and financial planning information and models. Manages updates to Capital Expenditure Schedule including cost estimates and supporting documentation.
- Establishes and monitors budgets including labor hours and schedules for Engineering Department projects.
- Performs other engineering, technical, or administrative duties as needed.
Required Skills:
- The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, civil, chemical, electrical, environmental) or a related field and 10+ years of experience.
- Must have a valid professional engineer’s license in New York State, or capable of obtaining one within the next 6 months.
- Formal training in project management is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Excellent technical, mathematical, and analytical skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
- CQM, CCM and/or ENV SP Certification a plus.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, consultants, contractors and the public.
- Ability to manage other multi-disciplined engineers
