ADP is hiring a Vice President, Internal Audit/Chief Audit Executive
The VP of Internal Audit/Chief Audit Executive sets the strategy and directs the activities of the Internal Audit Department with the objective of ensuring ADP is adequately managing strategic, operational, financial, IT, and compliance risks. The Chief Audit Executive reports functionally to the Audit Committee and administratively to the Chief Financial Officer. The CAE is responsible for developing and leading a proactive, global internal audit group, bringing a disciplined, risk-based approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls and the governance process. In addition, the CAE is responsible for communicating the internal audit plan and results of reviews directly to the Audit Committee, executive management and business unit management.
This role requires an enterprise-wide view of strategic, operational, financial, IT, and compliance risks with the ability to create and drive vision, strategy and a culture of innovation, execute on the Risk Partner strategy, and serve as a thought leader for the organization.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Sets a vision and strategy for Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Audit and Integrated Assurance
- Serves as a risk expert and advisor to the business
- Partners with the business to proactively ensure actions are taken to mitigate identified risks
- Drives process improvements throughout the department and company
- Directs the performance of an ongoing risk assessment process that results in the refresh of the Risk Wheel, top enterprise risks, and risk taxonomy
- Develops the annual audit strategy and plan for Enterprise Risk Management activities, Signals of Change, Integrated Assurance, Internal Audit activities, SOX testing activities, SOC reporting activities, T&E monitoring, testing on behalf of management, internal quality assurance and process improvement and investigative support
- Establishes polices and provide guidance to ensure that the Department fully executes its charter and meets organizational and departmental goals
- Adheres to the Institute of Internal Auditor’s International Professional Practices Framework when conducting and reporting internal audit work
- Presents a formal report of Internal Audit Department activities to the Audit Committee on a quarterly basis and keeps the Committee Chair apprised on a regular basis
- Ensures audit activities are delivered with quality, efficiently, on-time and within budget
- Establishes and manages the department budget and allocates the department resources according to the audit strategy and plans
- Actively manages the flexible staffing model with Ernst & Young to ensure skillsets are deployed globally to achieve the audit plan with excellence and quality
- Coordinates with Deloitte to ensure Internal Audit work is leveraged to the extent possible and both teams are coordinated to reduce impact on the business
- Proactively develops and empowers direct reports to build skills and move towards their next career step and creates a culture of active career management for Internal Audit associates that also benefits the broader organization
- Effectively manages the talent pipeline and encourages associate transitions into and out of the department
- Acts as a thought leader in the profession and participates in industry forums and conferences to help advance ADP’s brand as a compliance leader

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
Education: BS and professionally recognized certifications (Certification in Public Accounting, Internal Auditing, or Risk Management) required; MS or MBA a plus
Experience: 15+ years of audit experience with proficiency in the following areas:
- Enterprise risk management and emerging risk monitoring
- Strategic, operational, financial, IT and compliance auditing
- Integrated assurance coordination
- Data driven audit techniques (analytics, metrics, dashboards, etc.)
- SOC reporting
- Sarbanes-Oxley testing
- Investigations
