Job Summary:
The ideal Traveling Installation Superintendent will have practical, hands-on experience in commercial construction as a crew Foreman or Superintendent. They will have proven ability to keep things running smoothly and is always on the lookout for how to make things better and more efficient.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversee, manage, and mentor installation crew members.
- Create construction schedules, perform regular updates, monitor logic relationships, and insert new activities and impacts.
- Coordinate jobsite logistics with project team and internal SurePods team members to ensure delivery and loading plan are known.
- Negotiate with authorities having jurisdiction and project teams to achieve project turnover and inspection milestones.
- Lead SurePods’ incident-free environment safety program.
- Coordinate with subcontractor work scopes, scheduling, and resource-loading in conjunction with pod installation crews.
- Foster the development of crew leads and foreman to grow into future leaders.
- Professionally represent SurePods field operations as primary interface with owner and design team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Implement good jobsite safety and cleanliness standards and ensure all team members follow company guidelines and policies.
- Responsible for achieving production output within the budgeted allowances for labor hours and material use.
- Issue daily production reports showing output, performance, issues, etc.
- Maintain daily time keeping for all team members.
- Work closely with installation team leader and project manager to coordinate crews and staffing according to project demands.
- Collaborate with Warehouse team for timely material supply.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to make decisions within the limits of general standards and practices.
- Able to read blueprints without assistance.
- Experience in the following systems and ability to trouble shoot, correct issues and punch
- Plumbing, electrical, drywall, metal stud framing, doors and hardware, paint and caulking.
- Strong desire to work in a team-based, progressive setting.
- High level analytical ability where problems are complex.
- High level interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization, motivate employees, and elicit work output and accountability.
- Flexibility in terms of both shift work and overtime.
Education and Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent training with work experience; college degree preferred.
- 3+ years leading commercial construction as a crew Foreman or Superintendent experience is required.
- Previous work in a commercial construction.
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish / English).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and commercial construction acceptance criteria.
- Documented leadership and / or team-oriented work experience leading a group of 10 or more team members.
- OSHA 10 & 30 certification is preferred.
- Certified Rigging (must achieve in first 2 months) is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- This job involves walking, standing, climbing, bending, stretching, and using hands and fingers to hold, grasp, push, and lift items.
- Working at heights above 4 feet is common on ladders and/or platforms.
- Environmental conditions involve indoor & outdoor work.
Travel Requirements:
- This is a traveling position. The responsibilities of this role are at the project sites which are located across the United States.
- Travel schedule consists of being on the road 1-3 weeks at a time to ensure projects are on track, crews are staying safe, and plans are being executed.
