Would you like to lead the team that develops, deploys, and sustains the software applications that run systems in the rides and shows of Disney attractions worldwide? As the Team Lead for the Global Engineering & Technology (GE&T)- Software Engineering group, you will be challenged to lead cast members who develop and sustain software throughout the Walt Disney World theme parks, resorts, and Disney Cruise Lines.
This is a Full-Time role.
What You Will Do:
- As the Team Lead of Software Engineering you will coordinate software development resources and the resources that maintain the application lifecycle management tools and processes used by Global Engineering & Technology and Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI). Your responsibilities include coordinating prioritizations to support new software development projects installed at the resort by Walt Disney Imagineering.
- Most importantly, as the leader of this group, you are responsible for evaluating the state of the industry for application lifecycle management standard methodologies, tools, and processes. This includes continually improving efficiency by evaluating and refining standard processes concerning designing, developing, deploying, and sustaining attraction software and systems at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- 8 + years of proven knowledge of computer operating systems from server to embedded devices, including Windows and Linux.
- Ability to communicate optimally with various partners: Engineering Services, WDI, outside vendors, and others.
- Ability to guide a diverse team with multiple ongoing work streams and projects.
- Ability to track ongoing projects and costs associated with those projects.
- 5+ years or shown knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and software design methodologies.
- 5+ year of proven experience and knowledge of working with and troubleshooting computer systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced and detailed knowledge of operating Systems for embedded devices, desktops, and servers, including real-time systems.
- Knowledge of interactive systems, including touchscreens, graphics cards, and motion detection systems.
- Proven knowledge and experience working with Bluetooth, radio frequency identification systems (RFID), and general wireless network communication.
- Experience working with Jira or other similar issue tracking systems.
- Experience using Slack, Microsoft Teams or other similar collaboration tools.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, other related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred: Masters of Business Administration or Professional Engineering Management or other similar post-graduate degree.
Preferred Education:
- Graduate degree in statistics, mathematics, or computer science related field (MBA, MSA, etc.)
