ADP is hiring a Tax Consulting Advisor for our client facing Tax Team in the HRO – Comprehensive Services Organization.
Be part of a dynamic and growing organization where you will be a part of a NEW Tier I Tax Team. This team will be responsible for the inbound call flow and serve as the front line to answer client’s employer related tax questions. As a Tax Consulting Advisor, you will be responsible for providing Tier I tax support to our clients and internal associates. Provide support and guidance to our clients to help them navigate the complexity of the following areas: tax filing/deposits, tax account status, business changes, filing discrepancies, Missing IDs, Missing TPA, out-of-balances, late original filings, and navigating our tax systems (SmartCompliance, iReports, etc).

In this ROLE you will be responsible for:
- Receiving inbound calls from clients and/or service associates that are tax related including but not limited to:
- Agency Notices – Status Inquires & assisting clients with navigation to upload in system
- Reports – Copy Requests (941, 940, State, Locals)
- Tax Invoice Inquiries (basic questions)
- SmartCompliance – Navigations, General Access, Reporting, Basic Questions
- Ensuring all work is completed according to scheduled deadlines with attention to quality standards, priorities, and overall goals.
- Providing tax services expertise to clients, internal associates and other partner departments as needed to address client related tax issues.
- Reviewing, interpreting, and assisting in a proactive manner the research of initial employer tax related questions which may impact client’s quarterly and annual tax filing.
- Serve as an embedded resource for Service reps on client-level tax issues.
- Collaborate with partner departments to improve processes relevant to client and employee-level payroll tax.
- Partner with Management to identify and develop training documents to address knowledge gaps.
- Mentor new Tax Consultant Specialists on your team as to process, research, improved efficiency & effectiveness, and improved customer service.
- Proactive communicate regarding any tax related escalations in concert with your team, or other Tax and/or Amendment Teams.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure client satisfaction.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- 2-4 years of payroll tax related experience
- At least 3 – 5 years of experience in a customer service environment, with proven ability to produce positive results.
- Strong client relationship skills with the ability to maintain client satisfaction in a relevant industry or has a payroll/ payroll tax background.
- A college degree is great but not required. What’s more important is having the skills to do the job. Other acceptable experiences could include:
- Experience noted above OR
- Military experience where skills including teamwork, adaptability, organization, and follow-through will help you build team and client relationships, identify solutions, and achieve success.
- Must be comfortable working in a performance-based and structured environment while demonstrating high ethical standards.
- Must be able to recognize basic procedural issues as they arise and escalate to the appropriate level.
- Ability to multi-task with sound analytic, tax technical, organizational and project management skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in ADP technologies and working knowledge of various tax related operating systems.
