Job Summary:
In this role, the Bristol based Operations Coordinator uses technical background and practical experience to organize and coordinate operations and logistics relevant to Audio Comms RF team and ESPN-produced events. This individual is expected to acquire working knowledge of all phases of the team and departmental operations through orientation and observation; familiarizes self with basic duties and functions of the Audio Comms RF personnel and the team’s role within the company. This role may travel to remote sites, as needed, on various sporting events, to assist Operations teams in organizing and coordinating on-site operations and logistics, interacting with crew personnel, production, and technical teams to meet specific schedules and goals. Functions on-site will be aligned with the Audio Comms RF teams support of an event, but not solely limited to these functions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the Audio Comms RF team and Operations Management in Bristol and at remote locations.
- Create and maintain the Smartsheet (Team Dashboard, sheets, report, Meshes, etc), Excel, Visio drawings, and other software platforms used to support the team, sport units and shows.
- Learn and maintain event support documentation lists, ensuring sport teams and shows have the necessary equipment and support for their events.
- Learn and maintain documentation of Audio/Comms resources, technical documentation, and audio/comms tie line allocation.
- Maintain a solid understanding of plant signal flow and infrastructure. Ensure the proper lines are planned, booked, and connected for every event.
- Participate in training programs (physical, classroom, virtual, etc.) for career growth and development and/or regarding any relevant equipment and workflow changes withing the operation.
- Place orders for equipment and supplies as requested. i.e., REMI kits, Zoom and LFH Support kits, Communications gear, etc.
- Receive and process invoices, prepare, ship and receiving gear for event.
- Update financial tracking documents used to track show related spends, equipment maintenance, team operation costs, and departmental support.
Required Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of all TV production equipment, technology, and workflows within assigned operating areas.
- Ability to perform tasks under tight deadlines, work independently and support simultaneous projects.
- Scheduling flexibility including the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be willing and able to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
- Strong interpersonal communication, customer service, organizational, computer and planning skills.
- Ability to work as a part of a dynamic team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years practical TV Production or related experience at the medium to large broadcast market, digital/streaming platform, and/or comparable collegiate broadcast level.
- Must be willing to take calls after hours, and on nights and weekends.
- Ability to balance the day-to-day workload, along with helping to oversee day-of-air remote challenges.
