Job Summary
The Media Product team is seeking a Sr Product Manager to drive new capabilities within the metadata supply chain that powers Disney+, Hulu, and Star+, and ESPN+. These are the tools and platforms that carry our high-quality sports and entertainment content from our creators to our viewers, and you will be essential to delivering our premium content experience globally.
Through collaboration with stakeholders across product, operations, and engineering, you will inform the product roadmap, factoring in business objectives and data to properly prioritize efforts against stated goals. You will work closely with the Director and other leads across Media Product, and DE&E Technology, in addition to engineering teams in New York, Santa Monica, and Seattle. You will be highly aligned to stakeholders across the end-to-end supply chain from delivery to the subscriber experience to understand their needs and evaluate opportunities.

Responsibilities
- Deliver new and innovative metadata-driven features for live and on-demand content in Disney+, Star+, and Hulu.
- Enable further global growth of our streaming brands by enhancing our supply chain to support new metadata attributes and distribution models.
- Partner with teams across the greater Walt Disney Company to unlock new and creative methods of storytelling through direct-to-consumer content experiences.
- Take a data driven approach to constantly improve the product – devise instrumentation, measurement and reporting frameworks and processes to communicate status to neighbors and stakeholders, as appropriate to each.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to translate product requirements into actionable stories using an Agile product development process.
- Maintain strategic insight into the latest industry trends and working groups for content metadata.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience, with 5 or more years of experience in a product management role.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
- Working knowledge of media metadata providers and standards.
- Must possess a viewer-first mentality and strong opinions about good customer experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to use data to drive decisions and back up assumptions and recommendations.
- Prior success building and executing product roadmaps aligned with business requirements and technology capabilities in global businesses.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work with engineering teams to discuss technical concepts, make tradeoffs to remove roadblocks, and evaluate new ideas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in the media industry preferred.
- Video encoding and packaging product management or hands-on operations experience.
- Master’s degree preferred.
The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $149,240 – $200,200 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
