This Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) role provides day-to-day financial support and analysis for Disney Experiences Technology and Digital (T&D), on the Project Finance team working closely with T&D project teams. The SFA is responsible for managing the financial aspects of highly complex projects and monitoring project expenditures to ensure projects are completed within budgetary constraints, and proactively recommend actions to address any variances. The SFA maintains budget tracking tools, tracks invoices and billings, manages fee structures, and forecasts potential gains and losses. In addition, they will work with the finance team to develop monthly forecasts, as well as provide other day-to-day financial support.
What You Will Do
- Develop a solid understanding of the business and provide financial analyses and decision support to Technology & Digital project teams
- Support, manage and track the project financials for multiple projects while working closely with the project teams
- Ensure accuracy of all financial information received and shared for planning processes and financial analyses, and proactively identify issues (data or process) and ensure appropriate action is taken to resolve issues
- Prepare weekly and month-end financial reports/decks and ad hoc analyses for projects
- Identify and implement continuous improvements to streamline and innovate processes and outputs
- Prepare journal entries for accruals, re-classes, and amortizations to ensure proper posting of financials
- Partner with project manager (or person playing the role of PM) and/or delivery manager to provide detailed analysis estimates/forecasts of the impact of changes to any financials
- Clearly articulate project variances to forecast and outlines cause of change
- Confidently and effectively communicates with managers, team members, customers, and business partners
- Develops and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Provide training to fellow analysts, as well as seeking to share expertise and standard processes
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of financial analysis, financial management or business development experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in quantitative analysis, financial modeling, and continuous improvement, and project management with a strong attention to detail
- Strong technical skill with experience in Microsoft Excel, SAP, PowerPoint, etc
- Ability to meet deadlines, effectively manage multiple priorities and perform job responsibilities accurately in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong analytical and writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
- Ability to build strong and effective working relationships with team members, peers, partners/clients at all levels across the organization
- Strong organization skills with attention to detail in handling multiple demands and balancing competing priorities
- Self-starter, with natural curiosity, willingness to challenge the status quo
- Professional teammate with a positive “can do” attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in SAP and Business Objects Analysis
- Ability to simplify complex issues and incorporates effective “storytelling” to engage and influence the audience
- Ability to plan and prioritize work and handle multiple priorities
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
- Identifies process improvement opportunities and provides solutions
- SAP experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent
