STV currently has an opening in our Harrisburg, PA office for a Senior Highway Designer in our Transportation and Infrastructure division. The successful candidate will have experience in highway design including highway geometrics, roadway modeling and cross section development, grading and drainage, traffic control, signing and pavement marking, and right-of-way plan development.
Responsibilities:
- Design of all phases of highway plan development
- Utilize Bentley’s OpenRoads software to develop 3D models, alignments, profiles, corridors, and cross-sections for transportation projects.
- Prepare and review detailed drawings, plans, and specifications for roadway, highway, and other transportation related projects
- Organizing and maintaining a digital file database for projects using Bentley ProjectWise software
- Stay updated with industry trends, software advancements, and best practices related to OpenRoads design.
- Training and assisting other team members in Open Roads and Civil3d
Required Skills:
- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (MS Degree is a plus) and a minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Proficiency in Bentley’s OpenRoads software and related tools (OpenRoads Designer, OpenRoads ConceptStation, etc.).
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, to design and prepare highway and transportation related plans and other documents
- Familiarity with relevant design standards and guidelines (AASHTO, FHWA, state DOTs, etc.).
- Experience with PennDOT, PA Turnpike and other transportation agencies
- Strong technical skills in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
Compensation Range:$94,967.00 – $126,623.00
