ADP is hiring a Senior Director of Platform Automation and Operations

In this role, you will lead a newly formed Platform Automation and Operations group for our RUN Small Business Services product, driving Build, DevOps, and Operations Engineers to modernize their current processes, processes, and technologies as we migrate RUN to a new Hybrid Cloud ecosystem.

You’ll need product development, DevOps, engineering, and leadership experience to thrive in this career. You are expected to lead the team through organizational change as you modernize the teams’ capabilities and drive technological change. You should have experience with public and private sector hosting technologies and governance and have ideas on the continual improvement of our systems. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Here’s what you can expect on a typical day:

• We’ll start every day with a scrum, working together to understand responsibilities, identify issues, and communicate coding priorities.
• Collaboration and Communication. Your group is responsible for supporting development teams as they build new capabilities on the award-winning RUN platform. You’ll listen to their needs, and collectively find the right hosting solutions to ensure its continued growth.
• We’re working on products with tech we have never used before. Inevitable challenges will arise, and we’ll rely on you and your team to look for a solution.
• We’re always learning new to embrace new approaches and best practices to ensure that we are building solutions for the future. Knowing what questions to ask is more important than knowing the right answers.
• Variety of work. Your experience building and supporting large distributed systems in the hybrid cloud space will allow you to balance this role’s various priorities. You’re the go-to leader when things go wrong. You’re always learning new services when they become available in AWS or Azure, and providing governance in terms of costs and compliance. You’ll be notified about production issues and required to support those changes promptly as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent.
• At least five years of recent experience as a leader leading developers and engineers in a DevOps hybrid cloud environment
• An example of the same or similar technologies: Java, Kubernetes, Kafka, Linux, SQL, Docker, Public Cloud (AWS or Azure)
• Familiarity with design, configuration, and implementation of DevOps pipelines
• Transformational Change experience
