Position Summary
At CVS, we’re building an Infrastructure Platform to enable teams across CVS Digital to quickly and safely deploy code and operate applications at the scale of a Fortune 10 company! The Infrastructure Platform will be leveraged by hundreds of engineers across Retail, Pharmacy, Health Solutions, and Aetna writing applications that will be used by millions of customers.
As a software engineer on the team, you’ll be responsible for leading efforts to build apis, cli tools, out of the box observability, and a deployment platform that enables teams across CVS Digital to build, test, preview, deploy and operate systems with reduced lead time and stack complexity. Specifically, this role will be focused on leveraging existing APIs and technologies to provision databases and storage solutions to our engineers.
This is a new team at CVS, and we need an engineer who is passionate about new technologies and automation that make managing infrastructure for a large corporation seamless. We are looking for a technical leader who can collaborate well with others, advocate for best practices, and program in java to build a platform that engineers want to use. This is a unique opportunity to help build a platform from the ground up and set the standard for exceptional code and safe deployments for a large company.
What we expect of you:
- You are a technologist who can plan, prioritize and perform assigned tasks within deadlines.
- You can collaborate with other engineers across CVS Digital to ensure we’re building an infrastructure platform with our customer’s needs in mind.
- You will contribute to the implementation of a self-service platform that enables engineers to deploy code safely, quickly, and easily.
- You actively participate in peer code reviews, providing feedback to your fellow engineers to make them better and to improve the quality of the software we deliver.
- You enjoy automating developer pain away by developing APIs, CLIs, bots, etc.
- You look for opportunities to share what you’ve learned with the broader engineering organization.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of overall backend development experience on enterprise class applications
- 2+ years partnering with architecture, product, and program management teams to influence product development decisions1+ years of overall backend development experience on enterprise class applications
- 2+ years of backend technologies, such as Java, Spring Boot, Golang, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and large public cloud technologies i.e. GCP, AWS, etc.
- Experience with teams who follow a Scrum/Agile development methodology
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with backend API’s
- Experience with industry cloud providers
- Experience with Java
- Ability to understand the performance of a largely scaled infrastructure platform
- Ability to identify customer needs and pain points and identify solutions
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is: $75,705.00 – $154,500.00.
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
