What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a seasoned leader to develop our security program and manage guard force operations. The ideal candidate has a bias for action, is trustworthy, and consistently demonstrates excellence. They have a passion to provide the most positive worker experience possible while maintaining the security integrity of the site. Formal security and emergency management experience is not required but highly desired.
Reporting to the Security Manager, the Site Security Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the leadership and administration of security operations at their assigned site. The employee is expected to work with minimal supervision. They will provide oversight, general leadership, and direction to security staff while partnering with key stakeholders to continuously improve the wholistic security posture of the site. In the absence of or at the direction of the Manager, the role will assume incident command during major events. The Site Security Supervisor may have direct reports based on the needs of the organization.
What You’ll Do
- Exercise independent judgment in directing the activities of the security staff – adapting approach and demeanor in real time to match shifting priorities
- Provide leadership, training, and development to security professionals
- Provide backup leadership capabilities for other security teams and sites as needed
- Draft policies, procedures, and instructions
- Build partnerships and work collaboratively with stakeholders to meet shared objectives and resolve security incidents (HR, EHS, etc.)
- Coordinate emergency response for medical, fire, or other emergency incidents
- Conduct regular patrols to ensure site security integrity
- Assume overall leadership of Security Operations in the absence of a manager
- Provide physical security presence to de-escalate and mitigate threats against Tesla property and personnel
- Any other assigned security or safety duties as required
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of leadership experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead emergency operations
- Ability to work all shifts including nights and weekends
- Formal training in verbal de-escalation preferred
- Former law enforcement, military, emergency operations, or emergency medical experience highly desired
