SIT/Survey Technician Position

Responsibilities:

• Assist RPLS in project management duties.
• Assist other survey techs in production and training.
• Able to perform deed/plat/easement etc. in online or in person research (abstracting).
• Assists in the preparation of deed sketches, ALTA surveys, plats, easement exhibits, topographic surveys.
• Process and verify accuracy of field data for office use.
• Create field packets per company standards for survey related tasks.
• Be able to write metes and bounds based on RPLS requirements and final boundary solutions.
• Work closely with surveyors, engineers, technicians, project managers and field crews.
• Be able to go to the field to accompany crews for assistance or trouble shooting.
• Be able to perform in office calculations for field crews to stakeout search ties, alignments, etc

Position Requirements:

• Proficiency in MicroStation V8i, OpenRoads Designer, Carlson w/AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Proficiency in Google Earth, Trimble Business Center, Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
• 3+ years of office survey experience preferred.
• 3-5+ years of field experience preferred.
• Be able to go to the field and visit job sites as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass background checks for employment.
• Interest in advancing Land Surveying knowledge through hands-on experience and mentoring.
• Ability to quickly acquire skills and learn new techniques.
• Knowledge of surveying terminology and operation of surveying equipment (total stations, GPS, and levels) (3D terrestrial scanners and Drone LiDAR beneficial).
• Ability to think creatively, keep an open mind, and take constructive criticism.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• Associates degree in Land Surveying/CAD or Board equivalent is beneficial but not required.
