Job Summary

Will assist in the installation of commercial and industrial HVAC sheet metal and other related equipment as assigned. Will work under the supervision of a senior level Sheet Metal Mechanic. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the installation of commercial and industrial HVAC sheet metal and other related equipment
• Assist in selecting appropriate type of sheet metal, such as galvanized iron, copper, steel, aluminum per project specifications and standards.
• Assist with field measurements and fabrication shop.
• Assist with ductwork
• Learn how to cut material into shapes used in heating and air conditioning ducts.
• Learn how to bend duct material to form shapes
• Assist drilling holes into ducts to bolt together
• Assist with solder, or rivets ducts together
• Learn how to smooth rough edges with file.
• Assist installing HVAC equipment and installation for conformance to specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.      

REQUIRED SKILLS

Excellent verbal, written, organizational and negotiation skills are required.  Excellent customer service skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships internally and externally.  Effective computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.  Strong adherence to Company safety goals and must embrace Company safety culture. 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes complex written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

Valid Driver’s License
