SENIOR MANAGER – OSW CONSTRUCTION required by our Client int the Renewable Sector to be assigned on a Permanent basis, located in Boston, MA or Houston, TX.
POSITION SCOPE
The Construction Manager is the senior onsite position that ensures continuous site operations in a smooth and non-interrupted continuation of construction works for offshore and onshore work.
This role will report to the Head of Construction and EPC Director within the project and may require local, regional and international travel.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
During Development, the Site Manager shall be responsible for:
- Liaise with Project Development team and assist in the process of gaining consent/approval for the construction areas and the O&M building.
- Manage the procurement of all contracts, from ITT preparation to hand over, for any part of the work required to ensure that the temporary and permanent port infrastructure.
- Prepare decision papers for management where required, including reasoning and cost/benefit analysis.
- Report and manage the Work, including initial and continuing progress.
- Managing the preparation and construction and O&M port upgrade contract that includes, but not limited to, liaisons with local stakeholders, oversee construction progress and planning, ensure contractor performs according to project requirements, ensure principal contractor performs according to quality, health, safety and environmental regulations, report to line managers, and other duties as needed.
- Produce and implement Site procedures.
- Readiness of Construction office.
DESCRIPTION
During construction phase, the Site Manager shall be responsible for coordination of following scopes:
- Marine Coordination
- Health and Safety
- Offshore Installation Coordination
- Support Services: administration, offshore and onshore technician team and Port Supervision.
- Site management including, but not limited to, personnel, warehousing, security, welfare, equipment/building management and maintenance.
- Support the coordination between Installation and Commissioning (assist with hand overs / responsibility transfers and offshore daily planning), Interfaces between installation contractors and commissioning.
- Management of day to day installation interfaces between contractors
- Detection of disruptions – especially with interferences to the overall project schedule
- Development of measures to avoid disrupted workflows
- Review of the implementation and success of the mitigation measures
- Continuously examination of the status of the Works in relation to the schedule and y identify possible disruptions – especially regarding the overall schedule with adjustments and mitigations as necessary
- Ensure that project and site documents and procedures are implemented and updated, including but not limited to: Site Management Manual, H&S plan, Environmental Plan, Lead Marine Coordinator Manual, Offshore Installation Manual, Construction Execution Plan and other site required documents, as required.
- Support with hand over from contractors to the Project and onward to the Operation & Maintenance Department as necessary.
- Participation in regular coordination meetings for ensuring the continuous and smooth delivery of services provided.
- Preparation and leading the meetings
- Ensure minutes of meeting are written and distributed
- Implement vision, values, common goals and standards
- Support with coordination of logistics (marine coordination at the offshore site), installation and commissioning activities, including transfer to O&M
- Support with preparation and implementation plan and routines for maintenance of site facilities, demobilization and re-establishment of areas
- Responsible for Lessons Learned system and other relevant knowledge sharing processes to ensure implementation of good practice from other project.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of proven experience as a Project Engineer / Installation Manager / Installation Engineer or similar role or experience.
- Strong technical background for installation of onshore and offshore work
- Outstanding communication skills with proficiency in written English
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Proficient in MS Office to include MS Projects
- Willing to relocate to location of work
