Responsibilities:
- Lead the Contract and Claims Department, comprising of Contract and Claims and QS sections.
- Writing contractual letters and formulation of claims for Variation Orders, EoT and Loss & Expense.
- Liaise with various internal departments to collate relevant documents for substantiation of claims including claim consultant / delay analyst engaged by the company.
- Liaise with internal / external law firm(s) with regards to the company’s on-going disputes with its sub-contractors, vendors, consultants and/or clients.
- Update and maintain a claim register to track company’s claims against the client, consortium partners (if any), vendors and vice versa and regularly update the project team of its status.
- Assist the Project Director and Package Managers in managing contracts and claims for various projects of the company.
- Ensure that all Notice of Claims and/or Further and Better Particulars are submitted to the client timely and in accordance with the contract.
- Oversee QS activities and ensure timely claims against client and that all sub-contractor/vendor’s payment claims are responded in accordance with the SOP Act.
- Attend all internal and external meetings as maybe required by the company.
Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of working experience as QS with focus on contracts and claims
- Preferably working in the Main Contractor undertaking Design & Build / Turn-Key projects in Singapore.
- Good working knowledge of the PSSCOC and familiar with SOP Act
- Knowledgeable in Alternate Dispute Resolution and preferably with experience in Adjudication, Mediation and Arbitration in Singapore
- Membership with QS Professional Bodies such as SISV or RICS is preferred but not essential
- Able to work independently and be a good team player as well
- Proactive, articulate and can handle pressure.
- Possess excellent people skills with the ability to integrate within a multi-disciplinary team and communicate with external consultants and clients
- Willing to be assigned at site in Tuas, IWMF Project.
