What You Will Do
This role reviews, evaluates, and communicates available information to make appropriate recommendations about trademark submissions and filings to business clients and internal partners.
- Responsible for the day-to-day accounting relating to the central Procurement (ProCo) and Leasing (LeaseCo) entities, which will perform the majority of purchasing on behalf of all domestic lines of business, including journal entries, reconciliations, and settlements
- Serve as a coordinator and subject matter expert for the ProCo and LeaseCo entities across multiple teams, working closely with LOB controllership and finance teams, Disney Financial Services, Treasury, Fixed Assets, and Corporate Tax
- Support the tax and controllership teams for ad hoc reporting needs and process improvements for the ProCo and LeaseCo’s
- Reconcile intercompany accounts, including intercompany markup between a large volume of legal entities
- Understanding of US GAAP accounting to determine appropriate accounting treatment for transactions
- Meet with segment contacts to obtain updates on the status of their intercompany transactions and document any accounting changes needed to be compliant with tax laws
- Implement new tools to assist with the tracking and elimination of intercompany balances
- Champion change in processes to create efficiencies
- Support and assist Business Unit customers with inquiries relating to the proper treatment of intercompany entries
- Assist with fulfillment of audit requests for customer compliance when the need arises
- Support Cast Members by providing assistance with day-to-day issues
- Develop and deliver training to new and existing Cast Members
- Develop and lead intercompany accounting process improvement projects
- Assist Tax with annual country-by-country reporting
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 2-5 years of corporate accounting experience with focus on intercompany transactions
- Demonstrates computer proficiency with Excel
- Demonstrates experience in driving process improvement
- Detail orientated with strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate and work with a team effectively
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently, efficiently and to handle high volume work in a deadline driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive experience with SAP preferred
- CPA or equivalent
- Experience with Alteryx a plus
Education
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
