Boise Cascade is looking to hire a Senior Accountant who will report to the Accounting Manager. The successful candidate will join the Company’s Financial Reporting Department and play a key role in the Company’s corporate accounting and consolidated internal/external financial reporting efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in preparation of supporting schedules included in the company’s quarterly and annual filings with the SEC, including preparation of eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL).
- Assist in preparation of investor relation materials, including earnings release slides, script, and press releases.
- Research and analyze emerging accounting and financial reporting guidance and trends including FASB standards and interpretations and SEC releases.
- Work with division accountants to perform technical accounting analysis related to lease accounting, record journal entries for lease accounting and perform account reconciliations.
- Work with division accountants and third-party vendor to record and analyze workers compensation transactions.
- Responsible for recording, analyzing, and reconciling employee compensation programs, which includes deferred compensation and long-term incentive programs.
- Record monthly equity share activity, as well as computation of basic and diluted EPS.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Develop, maintain, and prepare monthly reports for management.
- Consolidate and analyze company financial and operating data.
- Participate in various special financial projects where data collection, analysis and reporting will be necessary.
- Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field with basic understanding of accounting principles, theories, and company practices.
- 3+ years of accounting work experience.
- Must be highly detail-oriented and organized to meet assigned deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external customers to maximize performance, problem solve, and achieve results.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- CPA or CPA candidate a plus, but not required.
