The Walt Disney Parks Retail Creative team is looking for a Graphic Designer to provide best-in-class creative design in support of all Walt Disney Parks owned and operated retail merchandise locations.
As part of the Retail Creative team, the Retail Creative Graphic Designer will conceptualize environmental creative design, print production, and installations for Walt Disney Domestic Parks and Resorts, Disney Store, and Disney Signature Retail Experiences. Creative support will include designing window displays, Environmental signage, interior overlays, printed graphics, dimensional treatments, including pricing/promotional signage for new and existing retail locations.
This position will report to the Senior Manager, Visual Retail Design.
What You Will Do
On any given day, you will be:
- Responsible for driving a project from initial conceptual development, through proper approvals, print production, and installation.
- Partnering with Retail Creative teams in strategizing, planning, design, production, and implementation of storewide graphic packages to support over 350 retail locations within domestic theme parks.
- Creating environmental graphics to support new film and product strategies while adhering to best-in-class brand standards.
- Develop concepts for executing graphic design solutions for both individual site and global activations.
- Collaborating with Visual Merchandising and Store Design teams for any required visual graphic retail support.
- Overseeing and coordinating the fabrication of 2D and 3D graphics with vendors in a timely manner, while optimizing design and materials for costs, and maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Responsible for preparing print and fabrication mechanicals.
- Oversee installations by coordinating schedules, vendor clearances and deliveries, tools, and communication necessary while acting as the on-site point-of-contact, subject matter expert, and day-of decision maker.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of three (3) years of graphic design experience in a retail store environment.
- Must provide a strong graphic design portfolio and skills demonstrating knowledge in composition, hierarchy, and color theory as well as a clear understanding of typography and layout.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Work independently to ideate and concept from a design brief, while showing eagerness to jump in and develop ideas, with a vision for retail environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively present and communicate creative ideas and concepts to cross-functional teams.
- Ability to learn and pivot quickly while working in a high paced evolving environment.
- Proven familiarity with both print and digital production workflows.
- Demonstrate organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and independently manage a variety of parallel projects.
- Ability to give and receive feedback on a regular basis.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be comfortable in a hands-on production environment with a high attention to detail.
- Must be willing to work early mornings and late nights as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Environmental design, Interior Design or similar creative field, or equivalent professional experience
- Proven drawing skills to communicate via digital concepts.
- Basic understanding of project management software.
- Proficient in Sketch Up or similar 3D software.
- Experience with motion graphics development (e.g. Adobe After Effects).
- Knowledge of Retail Industry trends, new technologies, and design materials.
- Knowledge of visual merchandising best practices and fixturing.

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $78,200 to $104,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
