What to Expect

Tesla is seeking an energetic and engaging Quality Supervisor to lead quality technicians for our cutting-edge Tesla Cell Manufacturing Line. You will exercise your exceptional leadership skills to delegate tasks and guide technicians and inspectors in executing the control plan for one of Tesla’s newest manufacturing teams. Your proven record of driving improvements and agility in responding to quality excursions will enable you to set the tone for the rest of the team. In addition, your strong collaborative skills allow you to bring cross functional teams together to efficiently solve complex problems. Your presence will bring structure to the team and bring the best performance out of each of your employees.

What You’ll Do

• Delegate responsibilities and manage schedules for a team of quality technicians and inspectors.
• Provide coaching and training to technicians and inspectors.
• Escalate quality issues with management and engineering as needed.
• Drive improvements in quality operations.
• Assist quality technicians and inspectors on in-line decision making.
• Provide regular reports & updates to quality team and management.
• Assist in management of material disposition.
• Enforce 5S and workplace hygiene standards.

What You’ll Bring

• 2+ years of leadership experience with a team of 10 or more employees.
• Must understand general manufacturing processes, Quality methodologies, and team leadership.
• Proficiency in concepts such as SPC, process capability, PFMEA, control plan etc.
• Must be adaptable in work schedule (including compressed work week) and the working environment.
• Effective verbal and written communications skills along with strong attention to detail, flexibility, and prioritization
• Capable of providing constructive feedback to subordinates.
• Multitasks and adapts to constant change.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to wear PPE including a full-face respirator and coveralls as needed.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Ability to work weekend shift. 
• Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal

Desirable Experience:

• B.S. in engineering or science or equivalent in experience.
• Certification in a quality-related field such as six-sigma, TQM, or equivalent.
• Experience in cleanroom environments.
• Knowledgeable in tolerance stack-ups.

Expected Compensation

$96,000 – $258,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
