JOB SUMMARY
The National Tuberculosis Programme (NTBP) administers the national TB registry, conducts surveillance of TB cases in the country and performs epidemiological and operational functions related to the prevention and control of TB. In this position, you will oversee and perform public health operations for TB cases, implement policies for TB prevention and care, and provide public health support as part of the NTBP.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SPECIFIC
- Lead public health operations for TB cases
- Oversee and perform public health operations for TB cases such as ensuring TB treatment adherence and prompt notification of treatment progress, issuance and enforcement of legal orders, tracing of TB patients and contacts, investigation of legal order breaches, and linking up with international counterparts via Singapore’s international health regulations National Focal Point (iHR NFP).
- Coordinate operations for TB cases that involve partner agencies and entities.
- Manage the TB treatment facility (TBTF) operations, including procurement of products or services required for operations.
- Coordinate the team’s support to the NTBP in major TB screening exercises.
- Provide public health input to the NTBP as necessary.
- Manage issues pertaining to the management of TB cases
- Communicating with government agencies, healthcare providers and patients to investigate issues arising from the evaluation and management of TB cases.
- Escalate cases to the NTBP Director(s) or the Ministry of Health for issues in compliance and policy.
- Interface with MOH and partner agencies for TB control
- Provide public health input to MOH for policy-making related to TB control
- Inter-agency liaison for matters pertaining to TB policy and control
- Provide input into public queries and appeal requests for TB-related matters
- Provide inputs for public queries received pertaining to TB cases or matters.
- Liaise with MOH for assessment of appeal requests and escalation of cases.
GENERAL
- Other responsibilities may include administrative duties pertaining to department operations such as finance, IT, office administration, fire & safety ambassadors, etc.
- Reviewing of standard operating procedures and work processes pertaining to TB operations.
EDUCATION
- A good degree in any discipline.
EXPERIENCE
- At least 3 – 5 years of working experience in healthcare setting.
- Experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
- Experience in handling difficult people and situations is preferred.
- Experience in report writing and inter-agency communications is preferred.
- Knowledge or experience in public health preferred.
