Project Manager (Regular, Full-Time)
Facility Planning and Construction
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager and Landscape Designer, the Project Manager is responsible for providing a broad range of planning, project management, and administrative support for the Museum capital construction projects and campus improvements. This position will support various museum departments by consulting on campus projects and, when appropriate, preparing architectural drawings. The Project Manager will be expected to read and interpret architectural, civil, and landscape drawings as well as related technical documents and specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management Responsibilities for Capital Projects:
- Conduct research to confirm project feasibility and scope
- Collaborate with internal Museum departments to develop design and programming directives for Museum campus projects and planning
- Develop and implement project work plans to ensure successful project delivery meeting the agreed upon project program on time and within budget
- Develop and manage project budget trackers
- Participate in the hiring of outside consultants, as needed
- Create and manage consultant contracts
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, city and county agencies, and other entities necessary to attain proper approvals, permits and other project specific requirements
- Coordinate and run project meetings
- Read, interpret and communicate plans, specifications and other technical documents to ensure Museum programmatic and operational requirements are being met
- Collaborate with design and construction professionals as well as representatives from various Museum departments to ensure successful integration of program, design and construction
- Engage, provide project updates to, and coordinate with Facilities and other Museum departments, as necessary, throughout lifecycle of project
- Coordinate project handover plan with Facilities department for smooth project transition after substantial completion
Facility Planning Department Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with various museum departments to facilitate campus projects including assisting with research, coordination, planning and execution for such projects
- Update and maintain the base plan and documents for the Museum’s campus and buildings
- Assist with the management, organization, and archiving of the department’s drawings and documentation
- Provide campus and building drawings and information, as required, by internal departments and/or external consultants
- Assist in coordinating external consultants including architects, contractors, specialty engineers and internal museum staff
- Performs other duties or special projects as assigned
BENEFITS
- The expected annual salary for this Los Angeles, CA based position is $65,000.00-$70,000.00, subject to change, and the position is eligible for LACMA’s comprehensive benefits package, including pension plan.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Construction Management or related field
- 3-5 years experience in planning, design, construction and project management highly preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office , Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, and internet research
