Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Project Estimator serving the Southern California area.  As a Project Estimator you will be supporting one of the most challenging and fastest growing career fields, Trane Technologies Energy Services. This role includes working with internal teams and customers to identify and develop turnkey design-build contracting projects, including scope of work development, cost estimating, and proposal support as part of an industry leading Energy Services Company (ESCO). This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule and will be based out of our Brea location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Develops, evaluates, and discusses possible turnkey solutions with Account Manager, Project Manager, Sub-contractor, Supplier, and/or customer. Collects project data needed to assemble turnkey project scope and estimate.
•    Utilizes plans, specifications, and knowledge of construction industry to analyze project needs and compiles detailed cost estimates.
•    Supports Account Managers in developing and establishing project installation budgets, and preparing the sub-contractor request for quotation’s (RFQ) including: scope statements; plans and milestone dates; specs; permitting and bonding requirements.
•    Responsible for creating cost estimates consisting of materials, sub-contractors, purchased equipment, labor (start-up, service work, etc.), and other construction-related activities to assist Account Managers in bidding on or determining price of project.  
•    Responsible for the take-off and pricing of purchased equipment to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options, etc.
•    Provide key technical support in pursuit of Trane business, including participation on strategic job acquisition teams.
•    Responsible for developing and maintaining subcontractor relations, along with evaluating and categorizing subcontractors.
•    Assist and support all efforts of acquisition and customer satisfaction.
•    Some travel required; other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications:

o   Four-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management

o    Project Management and/or HVACR related work experience required.

o    Working knowledge of all facets of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and knowledge with the operation of HVAC systems, electrical systems and temperature controls.

o   Some travel primarily in Southern California with occasional travel in other parts of the state.

o   Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: 
DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Carless Driving, or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.

Potential Salary Range $81K to $141,200. Total compensation for this role will include a incentive plan.
