Flatiron is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to support management of major transportation projects in Southern California. This role includes providing technical support on permitting application and acquisition, environmental monitoring, design review, and construction compliance programs to ensure compliance with environmental specifications or regulatory standards. Candidates must have an active QSD certification and will be responsible for SWPPP preparation and implementation.
What you will be doing
- Audits, analyzes and reports environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies.
- Works with design and construction team advising how to avoid and minimize adverse environmental effects.
- Manages subcontractors for project specific environmental
- Carries out impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce the organization’s environmental risks and financial costs.
- Writes environmental reports for supervisor review and leadership
- Promotes and raises awareness, at all levels of the organization, of the impact of emerging environmental issues, whether legislative or best practice.
- Coordinates public hearings and consultations on environmental
- Trains staff at all levels in environmental issues and

What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Biology, or an environmental related field
- Experience and understanding of civil construction and contract management.
- 5+ years’ experience in environmental regulatory and construction industry compliance
- Active QSD certification
- Experience in oversight of identification, tracking, and reporting of potential hazardous materials materials, including contaminated soil, groundwater, pavement stripes/markings; and enforcement of hazardous waste management practices.
- Experience performing required inspections related to hazardous waste storage areas and stockpiles, temporary containment facilities, satellite collection locations, etc.
- ENVISION Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) with industry experience in integrating sustainability within a fast paced, multi-disciplinary, complex projects and full understanding of the sustainability design, construction processes and programs.
- Experience with SCAQMD and CARB equipment permitting requirements.
- Additional Environmental certification
- Experience with Alternative Delivery Projects preferred.

USD $95,000.00/Yr.
Salary Max
USD $119,000.00/Yr.
Vehicle Program
· Personal Vehicle Allowance Tier I: $750 USD/month
