Shared Services : Planning Design and Construction (Full-Time, Day Shift) –

The Project Engineer-Construction through the provision of construction project management services, the incumbent will demonstrate a service approach of safety, compassion, experience and efficiency.
Through a philosophy of partnership and customer service the project engineer will assist with the facilitation, management and reporting of LLUMC construction projects from inception through licensing and move-in under the direction of the Senior Project Manager and department Director.
Provides quality assurance and improvement for project management activities. Assists in the development of Key Performance Indicators for the department.
Performs other duties as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, design engineering or related field required.
Minimum two years of project management, construction management, planning or design required. Experience may be considered in lieu of Degree.
Valid Driver’s License required at time of hire. Certification from the Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists or member of American Institute of Architects (AIA) preferred.
Working knowledge of estimating, scheduling, project controls, field techniques and applicable codes required. California healthcare construction project management experience preferred.
Able to read; write and speak with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position, e.
- g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access; operate / troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others;
- provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure;
- lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone;
- think critically; work independently; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments; compose written material;
work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.
Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace;
see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
