IN DETAIL:
Life at MMA begins with a truly supportive culture and a focus on professional development. The team at MMA consists of bright, capable, affable architects, designers and support staff. We care about one another and we invest time and energy in each other’s success. We focus on building and growing the individual because we know that strong individuals make a strong team, and a strong team will execute projects well and will allow us to find meaning and satisfaction in our work.
Our weekly team meetings include touch points to thank colleagues for specific instances support over the past week, to present recent design work we’re proud of, to geek out by discussing trends and innovations within in our trade, and to kick off the work week in alignment.
Our work life is flexible and nimble. When we are fortunate enough to be together in person, we work in a centrally located office in the heart of downtown San Francisco. We have large desks in an open, creative office space, and a well-appointed kitchen with healthy snacks. Brian makes a great pot of coffee (dark roast). Justin keeps the Nespresso well stocked and treats the espresso machine like it’s his baby.
We like to socialize and we truly enjoy each other’s company. We have a “social chair” who coordinates out-of-office events, and as things normalize, we are resuming our regular in-person all-day team meetings where we chart our path forward together.
We are seeking a talented and capable Project Architect to both contribute to and benefit from our culture and coworkers. The Project Architect will lead commercial tenant improvement projects with a hospitality and design focus. Depending on the passions, talents and experience of the candidate, work may include day-to-day project management, project design, technical coordination, client management and/or account management.
Our Project Architects typically have about 8-12 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree from an NAAB accredited school of architecture, and strong design, technical and/or management skills. Proficiency with Revit is preferred.
Office-wide, our projects include hospitality-driven medical offices for next-generation practices, commercial interior and ground-up design, and high-end single family residential projects. Recent and current projects include multiple sites for a next-generation women’s health clinic, a commercial farm-to-restaurant development in Hudson Valley, NY, and a modern home renovation in Noe Valley. Our diverse project types represent an opportunity for our employees to self-direct their careers to acquire deep experience in one particular type or gain a wide array of experience with different project types.
In addition to a supportive and engaged work culture and excellent opportunities for advancement, we offer competitive compensation, 401(K) plan and company contribution, health benefits, professional training and certification stipend, mobile phone and technology stipend, ARE test reimbursement, regular team meetings and social events. MMA is an equal opportunity employer and we benefit from diversity in the workplace.
