Southern Industrial is looking for a Payroll Coordinator to work out of our Raleigh, NC office. This is an in office position.
The Payroll Coordinator works within the Corporate Accounting Department and contributes to the management of company resources through processing electronic and manual timesheets as well as reviewing weekly payroll data. The Payroll Coordinator works closely with Project Managers, Field Supervision, Billing & Payroll Supervisors, and others as needed.
- Process and review electronically submitted daily timesheets.
- Collect and enter manual timesheets when electronic timesheets are unable to be submitted.
- Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information as necessary.
- Edit time records as necessary based on Project Manager review.
- Perform review of weekly payroll data to ensure reasonableness prior to submitting data to Payroll Supervisor for processing and payment.
- Assist Operations with payroll related inquiries.
- Support Corporate payroll processing by serving as backup for Payroll Supervisor.
- Protect employee and company data by holding personal information as well as sensitive data in strict confidence.
- Follow company policies and standard operating procedures as they relate to the payroll process.
- Contribute to accomplishing both accounting and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of payroll experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- Analytical skills to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook, and database management.
- Basic clerical skills to include data entry, report preparation, and file maintenance.
- Preference given to applicants with:
- Experience with construction accounting, including Certified Payroll and OCIP/CCIP;
- Experience with Timberline/Sage accounting software; and
- Associates Degree or equivalent.
