Responsibilities
- Perform value engineering to achieve optimized performance of the desalination plant through:
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to improve plant performance (including integration of smart predictive systems)
- Lead in technical guidance on sequence of replacement of membranes, cartridges and other consumables based on past usage for optimized results
- Conceive, develop and promote strategies that will create optimization and savings
- Manage implementation of optimisation strategies and report progress
- Administer all optimisation from conceptualisation to validation.
- Monitor and provide enhancement to all key operating variables and design/devise various new scientific methods or sequencing to improve performance.
- Review effectiveness of optimization exercise through data harvesting for proper conclusion
- Manage key risks, issues and cross-functional alignment for optimization strategies
- Prepare technical proposal with implementation timeline to demonstrate savings derived, which includes:
- Provide project cost estimations
- Provide recommendation on selection of material, equipment and services and determine required scope of supply (standards and documentation
- Prepare technical calculations on output parameters before and after optimisation
- Provide engineering support during operations and pre-operations phase
- Involve in technical discussions with customers, authorities and suppliers
- Liaise with Client for water output nomination, reporting and invoicing
- Derive trending as basis for optimization
Requirements
- 3-5 years’ experience in desalination plant operation
- Possess diploma/ degree in chemical engineering/ Environmental Engineering
- Familiar with water desalination treatment processes
- Have engineering and optimisation calculations
- Working knowledge of membranes, cartridges and filters for desalination plant.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and/or Primavera
- Problem solving and analytical skills, detail-oriented
- Organised and able to work independently
- Willing to work in Jurong Island
