The Cloud Operations Lead will be responsible for leading a team of 6 to 10 engineers, including System Administrators, Endpoint Administrators, and Cloud SysOps Engineers.
The Cloud Operations Lead will guide the team by sharing best practices, processes, and methodologies. This role requires a hands-on approach, as the Cloud Operations Lead will be both a leader and an individual contributor. The team’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, a range of activities such as change management, incident management, problem management, vulnerability management, and more.
The Cloud Operations Lead possesses expert knowledge of the AWS cloud and is well-versed in ITIL operational processes. With a proven track record, you are prepared to oversee and mentor junior engineers, leading by example and implementing best practices for managing cloud infrastructure and applications. Additionally, you will ensure that customer Service Level Agreements are promptly addressed.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding operational issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Provide coaching and guidance to the team of engineers, fostering a culture of operational excellence.
- Assign, delegate, and manage the workload of team members, ensuring tasks are distributed effectively and efficiently.
- Oversee team operations related to security, vulnerabilities, and patch management, ensuring systems and infrastructure are up to date and secure.
- Proactively address daily events, tasks, incidents, and problems, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal impact on operations.
- Lead and actively participate in discussions with Cloud Service Providers, OEMs, and principals, staying abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in an enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) frameworks such as ITIL.
- Familiarity with IT security and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Possess strong technical knowledge in one or more of the following domains: System administration, Networking, Cybersecurity, Business Continuity, MS Active Directory & IAM, End Users Computing, etc.
- Familiarity with enterprise-class applications such as Tenable, CyberArk, NetBackup, Splunk, Palo Alto, Symantec Endpoint Protection, etc.
