Job Title: Mechanical & Plumbing Estimator
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively gather and disseminate market intelligence for each estimating job by talking directly with the buyer, the end user, vendors and/or other sources of information.
- Interpret customer drawings, specifications, and requirements as the basis of formulating quotation strategies.
- Work with Estimating, Engineering and Sales Departments to analyze customer requirements and develop a winning strategy for every quotation.
- Identify optimum cost/availability of materials within the customer’s Approved
- Material Supplier or Country of Origin List and prepare material and labor estimates used in the quotation process.
- Learn to effectively utilize all estimating documentation and electronic programs in preparation of the bill of material and labor estimate for all quotations.
- Complete all documentation on time and in an organized manner consistent with company policies and management directives.
Job Specifications (incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.)
- Mechanical Engineering degree or HVAC experience.
- 4+ years’ experience in estimation with focus on NAVFAC or federally funded projects
- Overall broad understanding of all types of Mechanical systems such as: Chillers, Boilers, Cooling Towers, primary and secondary piping, HVAC ductwork, RTU, AHU, VAV’s.
- Experience with tooling, machining, fabrication or construction environments and industries.
- Must be fluent with Office Suite (SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- Strong technical writing skills, ability to read and interpret drawings and/or construction plans is required for success.
- This position requires strong negotiating and organizational skills, the ability to perform detailed work in a timely manner, follow up through order closure, and management of the order throughout the manufacturing process.

Compensation Range: $90,000 – $108,000K per year.
