Job Description:
The purpose of the job is to possess the ability to plan manufacturing practices, conduct research, and develop tools, processes, machines, and equipment. The job also involves integrating facilities and systems to produce quality products while optimizing capital expenditure. The primary focus of a Manufacturing Engineer is to transform raw materials into engineering blueprint products in the most effective, efficient & economical manner possible.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Prepare production and inspection processes.
- Develop CNC programs for part machining processes and design machine fixtures for casting machining.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of customer orders.
- Lead, prepare and implement the First Article part process, including documentation package.
- Provide guidance and support to operators in milling, turning, grinding, and honing machining processes.
- Lead and manage continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time.
- Design machine fixtures for casting machining.
- Continuously improve processes to shorten cycle time and ensure consistent quality.
- Possess technical expertise to plan, design, set up, modify, optimize, and monitor manufacturing processes.
- Monitor and stay updated with current and evolving trends in the manufacturing industry, both nationally and internationally.
- Perform other ad-hoc tasks assigned from time to time
Reporting:
To Head of Engineering
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum Diploma/ Degree in Precision / Mechanical / Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 1-2 years of working experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
Technical Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required:
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Computer literacy, including a good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Ability to multitasks and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
- Knowledge of using Mastercam, Solidworks, AutoCAD and creating NC Programming.
- Experience in process planning, including jig & fixture design and tool application.
- Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
