The Renewable Energy business unit within McCarthy is a fast growing and dynamic group that will deliver over $1b in solar and batter storage projects in 2023.  The group provides full engineering, procurement, and construction services across the country for a variety of utility and developer customers. 

The Manager, Project Financial Modeling role will provide leadership to pursuit and design teams as they seek to provide owners with differentiated customer value using the McCarthy Design for Quality system.​  This leadership will include customer engagement with the pursuit and design teams to better understand the opportunities to improve designs to deliver more value as well as coaching and training pursuits team to make more informed choices on design, procurement, and operating plans.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead teams to make informed design and project decisions with a goal of delivering higher customer value for BESS and PV projects.
• Provide financial analysis of projects in proposal and design phases within the Design for Quality system that looks to continually improve the value of projects.  ​
• Communicate the findings to the Business Development, Preconstruction, Design and Procurement teams.​
• Use the automated design customer workshops with preconstruction, energy modeling, procurement, and design management team members to help identify the best value solutions for our customers and guide the design teams to pursue these improved options.​
• Build the tools needed to financially analyze various designs to identify best customer value and communicate to the larger pursuit team.​
• Integrate and update the analysis tools into the automated design platform.​
• BESS: Integrate financial analysis tools with the BESS optimizing tool.
• ​Innovation:  Provide customer value analysis for innovation opportunities.​
• Meet customers and support BD team when first engaging the team.
• ​Train team members to understand the customer financial benefits from different plant architectures, sizes, designs, procurement, and plant quality on long-term O&M reduction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
• 5+ years’ experience analyzing asset valuation for renewable energy projects preferably solar projects.
• Technical proficiency with Microsoft tools, advanced Excel skills and strong analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational, team management, innovative and problem-solving skills.
