Job Summary:
As a Manager of Construction, you will be focused on ensuring that all assigned projects are properly scoped, designed and executed with an emphasis on strict scope, budget and schedule control. You will perform accountabilities according to established operating procedures and is expected to take an active role in continually improving these processes.

Safety:
- Monitor’s the project safety program in close coordination with DLR Safety.
- Ensuring that the Field Superintendent/Construction Management team is obtaining final approval for contractor submitted safety plans and compliance to the project safety plan. Includes but is not limited to compliance with all regulatory (OSHA) requirements, corporate governance requirements and DLR safety requirements.
Planning / Development/ Implementation:
- Functions as the Project Team’s primary representative providing construction management guidance and leadership
- Coordinates multiple projects with several variables, setting realistic deadlines and managing timelines
- Provides a variety of information to DLR Cast Members and Business Partners, contributing to projects and assisting workflow throughout the organization
- Attends pre & post bid scope reviews/ constructability reviews on projects in design phases
- Develops project implementation strategies and schedules with support of FAM Project Schedulers
- Assists Project Managers in project options analysis
- Responsible for the project schedule, establishing critical path task to insure schedule compliance and ensuring proper man loading requirements of the contractor to achieve the desired completion date
- Responsible for coordinating operational constraints and job objectives together as to achieve a seamless project. Including but not limited to timely communication with Business Partners, Clients and Management regarding project status, schedule, financial and guest impacts
- Communicates project information effectively to lines of business client and all impacted Resort divisions and Management

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Special classes in building construction (MEP, estimating, reading contract documents)
- Minimum of eight years’ experience with Construction Supervisor experience of multiple commercial construction projects ranging from $10,000 to $30,000,000
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage people
- Self-motivated and capable of managing/supervising multiple projects
- Demonstrates good communication skills, negotiation skills, and administration skills
- Competent in reading, reviewing and interpreting contract documents/specifications
- Capable of assisting with project budget preparations
- Technically competent with various software programs such as construction management software and Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Competent in OSHA Rules and Regulations
Technical Competency:
- Technically competent with various software programs such as construction management software and Microsoft suite of products {Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Utilize project and contract management systems in the daily operation of the business
- Provides constructability analysis and value engineering recommendations
- Develops and enters the daily field reports into the Project Management software system
- Generates and reviews information/scopes on field directives
- Assures contractor manufacturer compliance with contract drawings and specifications, applicable codes and Disney Standards
- Focuses on continuous performance improvement and efficiency
- Focuses on safety and financially driven decisions
- Provides technical information to the Estimator to allow for accurate budgeting
- Facilitates meetings with Executives in a professional manner
- Competent in settling disputes and creating solutions
Team work and Collaboration:
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with Team Members, Customers, Clients and Contractors.
- Partners with all lines of business to ensure the final product best meets the intended business objective.
- Utilizes Disney partners and resources.
- Partners with Program Managers and Project Managers in regards to change orders, field directives and project cost impacts
- Mentors and coaches other Cast Members to assist with their career.
- Monitors their Cast Member’s (Reports) training and personal development plan.
The hiring range for this position in Anaheim is $112,012 to $150,260 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
