What to Expect
The Maintenance Planner will be tasked with various duties including but not limited to writing work orders based on field diagnosis/inspection, administrative duties, generating weekly/monthly reports, investigation, and preparation of work orders for execution and root cause analysis of early failures. Scope includes all technologies employed with assigning work to maintenance technicians and team within our Cell Materials team.
- Managing workload – prioritizing work and ensuring deadlines are met
- Evaluation of work orders for assignment/collection of parts, tools and time required for repair
- Cross discipline collaboration to ensure the proper work order repairs are applied the first time
- Systematic inspection of core systems along with work order creation to ensure repair before the failure
- Interface with various layers of leadership, highlighting status of PM/Work Order system and current priority of repairs
- Auditor of PM execution and accuracy. Creation of work orders based upon PM findings
- Special duties and projects, as assigned or necessary including coverage of other coordinators
- Generation of the daily maintenance plan for review and allocation based upon current shop condition, determined by manager, in consultation with shift supervisor
- Participates in the training of technicians to ensure proper repair procedure
- Assist management to coordinate PdM initiatives (Predictive Maintenance projects)
- Collaborate in the development of data driven projects to increase equipment availability
- Develop detailed work packages for efficient field execution, inclusive of cost & resource estimates, material procurement, and QA/QC requirements for base maintenance as well as planned outages.
- Collaborate with maintenance management to plan activities for scheduled shutdowns
- To assist maintenance management on the development of cost reduction projects
- Synthesize supplier, industry and market research for assigned commodities (If needed) to develop sourcing strategy as well as issue RFx (RFQ, RFB, and RFP) for sourcing assigned commodities/services.
What You’ll Do
- Promote a positive safe inclusive work culture
- Work with Engineering, Operations, and Safety to develop comprehensive SOW (scope of work)/Job plans
- Manage emergency break ins and communicate with tech leads to shift work. Work with area specialist from operations team to understand priorities
- Act as subject matter expert for entering WARP, FLUX, WFM, workplace, TSP, etc
- Manage contractor work force for on-site work
- Manage contractors/shops for off-site work repairs
- Develop and monitor schedules according to requirements and plans, while maintaining best practices for all activities that affect the schedule and utilizing best practice planning and supply chain processes during the planning process
- Accountable for coordinating of all material and validating it’s ready for work execution
- Submission of PO and tracking of material/items through WARP
- Planner communicates and sets expectations with leads on daily work priorities and jobs
- Planner is ultimately accountable for schedule completion so removing barriers for leads/craft to complete jobs
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years in an industrial manufacturing environment, with experience supporting maintenance organizations in the development and execution of detailed job plans
- Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or combination of education and applicable experience
- Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve, with demonstrated ability to identify business process issues and drive process improvement
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
- Ability to work with minimal guidance; proactive, motivated self-starter
- Ability to communicate clearly and interface with multiple engineering disciplines, vendors, craft experts, as well as executives
- Data analysis and risk-based decision-making skill
- Lean manufacturing knowledge
- TPM and/or autonomous maintenance knowledge and experience
- Proven ability to operate under pressure while managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, occasionally requiring extended hours
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, Navisworks, and Hexagon is a plus.
- Ability to communicate clearly and interface with multiple engineering disciplines, vendors, craft experts, as well as executives
- Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
