What to Expect
The Lead Production Associate in Energy will report to a Production Supervisor and work alongside production team members. The ideal candidate has a proven record of success in leading team members and takes pride in their hands-on work.

What You’ll Do
- Manage daily operations in production area(s) under the guidance of Production Supervisors
- Ensure the safety and productivity of team members and escalate any issues in a timely manner
- Perform standardized work process and follow defined work instructions
- Ensure production resources (materials, equipment and workforce) are available as needed to maintain production schedules
- Responsible for training new team members and cross-training existing team members according to training plans
- Responsible for keeping team members motivated and engaged
- Lead daily team discussions by utilizing communication boards and/or providing visual tools to align team focus and drive production goals
- Maintain a clean and safe workstation in accordance with 5S protocol
- Support continuous improvement goals in safety, people, quality, delivery and cost by evaluating team, processes, and equipment
- Monitor real time progress by tracking hourly output vs. production targets and goals
- Escalate equipment and process failures to the appropriate support groups and leaders while maintaining composure in stressful situations
- Utilize MES in accordance with operational policies to ensure accurate tracking of equipment and process efficiencies
- Suggest and implement new ideas to improve production work environment
- Responsible for tracking the following metrics: Target vs. Actual for Completed Units, Starts, Cycle Time, Units per Hour (UPH), First Pass Yield (FPY), and Safety Observations
- Ensure that product quality meets standards set by Tesla management
- Responsible for first level investigation of any quality issues, open items and QDN’s
- Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and analyze quality data to reduce defects on the line
- Communicate detailed and clear information in pass down
What You’ll Bring
- Must be shift flexible
- Experience working hands on in a fast-paced production line
- Basic understanding of the following systems, Flux, MES, SPC, OCAP, HMI, PLC and OTTO
- Basic understanding of the following metrics, OEE, QDN, UPDT and FGI and NCM
- Ability to understand and develop written work instructions and maintain a safe working environment
- Demonstrated organizational skills, analytical abilities and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to realign to another group/team as needed
- Proven success in completing tasks and meeting goals
- Must be team oriented and have a positive attitude
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
- Shift flexible and prepared to work long hours and weekends
- May require clean driving record and driver certification of a pallet jack and/or forklift

Expected Compensation
$26.65 – $31.50/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
