Junior Respiratory Medical Technologist

JOB PURPOSE

To carry out duties involved in the operation and maintenance of pulmonary physiology and/or polysomnography equipment under supervision of the Respiratory Medical Technologist / Respiratory Therapist.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific (85%)

1. Perform routine pulmonary physiology tests, polysomnography test, ambulatory sleep test under the supervision of the Respiratory Medical Technologist / Respiratory Therapist.
2. Generate accurate reports.
3. Maintain patients records in departmental database.
4. Schedule test appointments and follow up appointments as needed.
5. Perform of routine calibration and maintenance of equipment to ensure accurate and reliable assessment and diagnosis; troubleshooting errors when variances arise.
6. Check, maintain and manage inventory stock for PFT Lab, Sleep Lab and ICU.
7. Assist and participate in clinical research activities in the department.

General (15%)

1. Performance of other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
2. Maintain cleanliness and order of laboratory and workspace at all times.
3. Be actively involved in hospital’s projects and functions and participate in community outreach programs.
4. Uphold and maintain a culture of patient-centered care and safety.

Education

To assist with in-house training/workshops for healthcare colleagues.

1. To assist other technologists with any ongoing departmental research activity.
2. To be updated with latest evidence-based guidelines used in clinical practice.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education / Training / Experience

         Diploma in Biomedical Science, Biological Science, Medical Technology or equivalent.

Professional License (if any)

1. BCLS certificate (To be obtained after joining)
