Job Summary:
Talu LLC is seeking an Interior Designer with 5-7 years of experience managing design for a federal government contract.The successful candidate will provide comprehensive project and design management services for our Census client in Suitland, Maryland. This position is a work from home opportunity but will require site visits on an as needed/requested basis.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead in the planning, design and furnishing of interior environments for all task orders.
- Confer with client staff (and designated Architecture/Design (A/D) representatives) to determine aesthetic preferences and furniture to be installed.
- Integrate findings with knowledge of interior design and formulate environmental plans and compile into a comprehensive interior design (CID) package.
- Advise client staff on interior design factors such as space planning layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, color schemes and color coordination.
- Render design ideas in form of sketches, drawings, or illustrations.
- Develop and implement graphic design concepts and appropriate creative solutions.
- Manage and coordinate installation of overall space signage and individual room and area signage.
- Ability to review the Lessor’s architectural drawing submissions including schematic drawings, design development and design intent drawings.
- Responsible for performing, coordination, and/or overseeing daily design and project management activities during the initial design phase through final close out of occupied buildings.
- Develop and review design and furniture plans and specifications including documenting information and writing reports.
- Develop and maintain project progress reports and renovation schedules.
- Coordinating day-to-day site issues related to materials, labor, and equipment utilization on large commercial projects.
- Provide technical assistance to internal team members and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed effortlessly.
- Collaborate with all project stakeholders, to include but not limited to, government agency representatives and tenants, trade subject matter experts and other various contractors, to resolve issues and ensure client satisfaction and successful project outcomes.
- Oversee furniture layouts and reuse plans for all FF&E.
- Oversee development of scopes of work for new furniture procurements.
- Provide subject matter expertise on furniture renovations and relocations.
- Provide space planning services for office renovations and relocations of various size and scope.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4-year college degree in Interior Design or demonstrated 10 years of experience in design and furniture project management.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing multiple design and furniture projects of varying complexity including multi-phase projects in design and furniture renovations.
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with contractors, tenants, and government agencies to resolve open issues providing excellent customer service and client satisfaction.
- Ability to read/interpret design and construction drawings, specs, schematics, furniture installation plans and other documents.
- Must be a U.S citizen, and able to pass background investigation to obtain a security badge and/or security clearance as needed.
- Must be organized, timely, and customer service oriented.
- Must have extreme attention to detail.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit required.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Project, and other project management software preferred.
- LEED certification or experience preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills.
