We’re seeking an experienced HVAC Superintendent / Project Manager to oversee all aspects of commercial HVAC projects in the San Diego area.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of HVAC projects from planning, coordination, scheduling to execution.
- Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases.
- Review and supervise work on the job sites, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Coordinate and collaborate with engineers, architects, and other construction and building specialists.
- Oversee daily field activities and ensure all work is done in compliance with the codes and safety regulations.
- Communicate project progress with stakeholders and report any challenges or issues that arise.
- Participate in budgeting, bidding, and job cost management, offering expertise on HVAC system efficiencies and potential cost savings.
- Manage relationships with subcontractors, ensuring quality and timely execution.
- Act as the primary customer contact for project activities, leading project review sessions with clients to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
- Perform inspections and ensure that corrective actions are taken if necessary.
- Coordinate staff training, provide mentorship and ensure team performance meets company’s standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in commercial HVAC systems.
- Proven track record of managing large scale HVAC projects.
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures, HVAC systems, and project management principles.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong team leadership abilities.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of local HVAC codes and ability to read blueprints.
- Proficient in project management software.
- EPA Certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel to various job sites within the San Diego area.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related field is preferred.
