Heavy Equipment Mechanic

• Mon-Fri schedule, occasional Saturday – overtime available
• Shop position with opportunity to grow into Field Mechanic with work truck

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair including but not limited to electrical, hydraulic, tracks, diesel engines and transmissions for a variety of construction equipment and crane types
• Maintain a safe, organized and clean shop work environment.
• Effectively communicate equipment issues with supervisor to ensure customer satisfaction
• Operate/maneuver heavy equipment on site in a safe and effective manner
• Check daily to ensure equipment functions properly and in a safe manner
• Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored when not in use.
• Accurately order needed parts from vendors when necessary and track procurement timelines
• Operate and test equipment after repair
• Responsible for keeping equipment organized in the Yard.

Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years experience with a large construction company as a heavy equipment mechanic
• Thorough knowledge of equipment and safety processes used in commercial, civil and/or marine construction
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance, storage, schematics and diagrams
• Necessary tools to perform the work assigned
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to weld and fabricate preferred
• Ability to complete daily activities according to work schedule
• Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
• Exhibit strong work ethic, teamwork, customer service, verbal and written skills
• Age 18+
• Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization
• TWIC credentials and CDL preferred
