About the Role & Program
The Global Security Design & Engineering (GSDE) Center of Excellence (COE) is looking for an intern who will be responsible for the technical coordination and integration of Research & Development (R&D) and program activities .
The approximate dates of this internship are January 2025 – June 2025.
What You Will Do
- Assist GSDE Manager(s) and the Program Manager in physical security R&D testing, evaluation and documentation.
- Assist in facilitating establishing the COE process and governance model and general program development
- Assist in coordinating and facilitating COE communication, promotional and program activities
- Assist with quality assurance and control, both with design documentation as well as field testing
- Assisting in the resolution of questions arising from R&D testing
- Provide technical input to other project team members to assist with program decision-making
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Solid understanding and curiosity about learning physical security technology and software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Digital literacy including experience using Word, Excel, Power Point, Slack, and Teams
- Ability to take direction, adapt to change, establish relationships, and work in a team environment
Education
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
- A junior, senior or recent graduate studying Engineering, Computer Science or Security
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
- Candidate must be available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
- This internship is a primarily onsite position — Must be able to provide own housing and reliable transportation for work in the Glendale, California area. Also requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace.
The pay rate for this role in California is $22.00 per hour.
