The Parts Clerk is responsible for issuing parts, tools and supplies; process cores and warranties, inventory control, receive inventory and stock shelves. The Parts Clerk is also responsible for practicing safe work habits and for maintaining a clean and safe work place environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Distributes/stores and maintains inventories of parts tools and equipment
- Charge out issued parts in M5, and search uncommon parts
- Properly disburse empty packing, pallets, boxes, etc
- Checking and tracking order status for parts needed for out of service coaches, as well as stock orders
- Fill orders, pack and ship transfers, complete transfer orders online by UPS and GPX
- Perform forklift inspection on each shift
- Perform weekly SOQ orders with Supervisor, perform SOQ cycle counts. Request ordering authorization of parts for out of service coaches and stock parts from shop manager. Place orders with vendors as necessary
- Maintain core and warranty paper work, process warranty claims, process cores for shipping
- Perform fluid and gas inventory and order as needed
- Process invoices for payment and proper receiving, filing of all completed paper work
- Request part numbers to be created or modified
- General storeroom housekeeping
- Ensures safe use of all shop equipment
- Communicates professionally with team members, supervisors, and customers
- Actively participates in safety or educational training as required
- In the event of a fuel or fluid spills, takes all necessary steps to contain the spill
- Follows all safety standards & guidelines, including but not limited to, wearing of safety glasses, wearing of steel-toed/safety shoes, appropriate safety gloves as needed, and proper attire
- Performs any other management requests or directives as requested
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma
- Valid driver’s license required
- One to three years of warehouse inventory and distribution.
- Some computer skill requiring basic data entry into maintenance database
- Must be able to speak and read conversational English
- Must be able to work shift work to include evenings, weekends and holidays
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Lifting up to 100 lbs without assistance and up to 250 lbs with job aids or co-worker assistance
- Carrying up to 25 lbs for a distance up to 200 feet
- Pushing/Pulling up to 80 lbs without assistance and up to 250 lbs with job aids or co-worker assistance
- Standing/Walking activities are encountered during 75% of the normal work day
- Sitting activities are normally not encountered outside of normal work breaks and would not exceed 10% of a work day
- Stooping/Bending/Squatting activities are encountered on a frequent basis
- Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling activities are encountered approximately 5% of an average work day
- Climbing would comprise no more than 5% of an individual’s time
- Reaching activities are conducted on a frequent and repetitive basis throughout the work day
- An individual may be required to perform twisting activities, dependent on the type of position he need to place himself in while performing his/her job duties
STARTING HOURLY RATE: $27.95
