General Summary of Position:
The Facilities Project Manager (PM) may serve as the University’s representative and project manager on ranging from major capital to campus renovation, renewal and infrastructure projects. In general, this position will be responsible for managing all phases of the assigned projects to ensure on time, in budget delivery in alignment with University strategies, initiatives and campus design standards, as well as relevant codes.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):Bachelor’s degree in Design, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or relevant discipline and a minimum three (3) years of progressive project management experience in design, architecture, and/or construction industry including working effectively with multi-disciplinary client teams, or an equivalent combination of a degree in another field and applicable experience, is required.Experience as Owner’s Project Representative managing design, renovation, and/or interior FF&E and relocation projectsMCPPO (Massachusetts Procurement Training) certification with demonstrated understanding of C149, C149A, and C3039M regulations or ability to obtain within one (1) year of assignmentOSHA10 certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of assignmentDemonstrated working knowledge of Building Codes, BOCA Codes, and ADA regulationsAbility to prepare, read and interpret CADD drawings and specificationsStrong organizational skillsAbility to coordinate multiple projects and agencies
Additional Considerations:
Dependent upon assignment:Minimum five (5) year experience with interior layout and design; FF&E selection and procurement; signage, and move coordinationMinimum five (5) years of progressive project management experience in design, architecture, engineering and/or construction industry including working effectively with multi-disciplinary client teams.Professional Master’s degree and/or complementary professional degree in architecture, interior design, engineering, construction, planning, or related discipline helpful.Construction/design industry and/or project management related certifications or registrations such as NCIDQ, Registered Architect, Professional Engineer, Construction Supervisor, LEED, BIM, BOCE, PMPExperience with oversight of construction projects, laboratory buildings, science facilities, institution/residential buildings, and other institutional facilities is desirableWorking knowledge of MEP/FP specifications, current industry standards, and energy codes is desirableExperience with Massachusetts public procurement construction laws or MCPPO certificationProficiency in a variety of MS office, design, graphics, and project planning software
