Position Summary:
McCarthy is seeking a highly qualified Electrical Quality Superintendent to support quality initiatives and on-site inspections for renewable energy construction projects. This person is also the main liaison with the Electrical leadership team and Quality group. They will serve as a resource in executing the SSQP and communicating lessons learned. This individual will also be the main point of contact for Quality Management between trade partners, owner representatives, and McCarthy team members.
The Electrical Quality Superintendent monitors the trade partners’ performance and interfaces with the respective Trade Partner quality leadership. This position will highly value strong leadership, communication, innovative problem-solving skills, and the desire to influence peers.
This is a full-time, site-based position that requires extensive travel to locations that span the continental U.S. Travel subsistence and additional incentives provided per company guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing the Project Site Specific Quality Plan (SSQP) and the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), with project team members’ input and client feedback informed by Owner contract expectations and the McCarthy RE Quality manual.
- Adapt and ensure the project Inspection and Test Plan (Verification) Logs for components, systems, and assemblies conform with the business unit-level template.
- Enforce the Quality process that is being accomplished in the field by conducting on-the-spot checks and inspections of in-process work and completed work.
- Work with the Self-Perform Electrical Leadership to implement a Quality strategy that focuses on data-driven decisions in order to provide customer value and promote a spirit of innovation and high-quality installation.
- Identify, document, and verify the resolution of Quality Issues/Observations/Non-Compliances in accordance with the contract documents and the SSQP.
- Confirm first Installation Verifications per the Inspection and Test Plan and verify that On-Going Verifications and Testing are accomplished and documented in the PROCORE management system per the ITP.
- Review electrical submittals for completeness and accuracy for submission to the Client and team members.
- Complete daily reports which document that required quality control activities and tests have been performed
- Assist in the development of site Electrical Work Plans
- Maintains a “value-added” approach to Self-perform goals and initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications
- Electrician/Construction professional with 10+ years of experience working on similar projects required.
- State Electrical license, Journeyman Electrician Union card, or completed electrical apprenticeship certificate preferred.
- Proven experience with quality management tools for design-build projects.
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong relationship-building and communications skills required.
- Proficient computer software skills and familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word required.
- OSHA 30-Hr Construction Safety certification preferred.
For California locations only, the salary range for this position is: $99,700 – $192,200. This does not include possible bonus and other benefits which can impact total compensation. Compensation offered may vary based on work location, experience, qualifications, specialty, training, and market and business considerations, among other factors.
For Colorado locations only, In accordance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB19-085), we are including McCarthy’s good-faith and reasonable estimate of a range of entry level base compensation at the time of the posting. This does not include possible bonus and other benefits which can impact total compensation. Given the dynamic nature of the large-scale commercial construction industry, a candidate’s project portfolio and background can change the role and compensation for which that candidate might be qualified. The title and pay range for this role could change based on candidate qualifications and experience. Pay Range: $90,600 – $130,300.
