Description

Our Boston, MA office is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience for our Transportation and Infrastructure Division. Successful candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited electrical engineering university and MA PE or plans to take the examination. The ideal candidate will have skills with Revit, AutoCAD, energy modeling and load calculation software, specification/report writing, and other electrical engineering tasks. Skills with Revit are a plus. Strong computer skills as well as strong oral and written communication skills are required.

Key responsibilities will include participation and taking the lead, in the planning, design and post design of electrical systems for facilities projects for a broad client base. We provide design services to both public agencies and private corporations. Current projects include public transit terminals and transportation maintenance facilities; municipal buildings such as public work facilities; and light commercial / retail.  Other potential projects include correctional facilities, convention centers, maintenance facilities, public health, and higher education buildings. Additional responsibilities will include supporting the design Revit and Auto CAD efforts for the projects he leads and assist with design effort on other senior electrical staff projects as required.

Day to Day Duties:

Works and assist senior engineers on their projects and take the lead on his/her own project under the review and supervision of the chief electrical engineer to perform the following project related efforts:

• Develop designs using Revit and/or Auto CAD for power, lighting and fire alarm systems
• Size and specify electrical equipment/systems
• Performs electrical calculations using specialized engineering software
  1. Lighting
  2. Short-circuit analyses
  3. Protective device coordination studies
  4. Arc Flash Analysis
• Develop reports and specifications, utilizing Micro Office Suite
• Field surveys and documents existing conditions.

 Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Experience: 5 years minimum relevant experience as an electrical engineering specialist.

Registration: Currently have FE certification, PE is preferred
