About the Role & Program
The Disney Programs Communications team leads the reputation and brand management of Disney Programs (Disney College Program, Culinary Program and International Program).
Are you someone who loves storytelling? As the Communications Intern, you will be sharing the incredible stories of our Program participants and communicating details across both internal and external platforms including company websites, email and social media. Our team partners with operations teams, key collaborators and Program and housing partners to share communication directly with participants. Join us on this journey of excellence and Disney magic!
This opportunity is exclusively for students who are currently on, or who have previously participated in a Disney College Program.
The approximate dates of this internship are January 2025 through June 2025.
What You Will Do
We are looking for someone with a passion for Disney Programs, who can speak knowledgeably about program offerings and benefits and apply their design expertise to support communication to, for and about our Program participants!!
Some responsibilities may include…
- Crafting communications materials such as blog articles, newsletters, emails and social media content for internal and external audiences.
- Collaborating with team members and partners to plan and produce content, always ensuring work adheres to brand guidelines and meets Disney’s standards of quality.
- Finding new and improved ways to reach our audiences and generate engagement.
- Helping to shoot and produce photo and video content for various Disney Programs-owned platforms.
- Writing and proofreading copy for a variety of platforms including print, digital and social.
- Supporting Program events, including arrivals and end-of-program capstone events.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Current OR previous participation in the Disney College Program.
- Passion for content and social media, a deep understanding of digital storytelling, and some photography/videography experience.
- Proficiency with Associated Press (AP) writing style and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience with content creation, and writing/proofreading skills, including both short-form (social media, design collateral) and long-form (blog posts, press releases) writing.
- Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information.
- A self-starter and outstanding teammate who is able to establish relationships, work well with others, share ideas, and is receptive to feedback.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous reporting/writing experience with a student or professional publication in print, television or online media.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
- Project management experience.
Education
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program, OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
- A student studying in their junior or senior year, or recent graduate within 6 months of graduation date is eligible to apply.
- A major in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Social Media, Journalism, or related major is preferred.

- An electronic online portfolio is required as part of this application process. This portfolio must be included as a URL link on your resume, and should include: Writing (professional writing, storytelling and copy-editing), Visual Communication (graphic design, photography and/or videography) and Media Materials (media alerts, press releases and/or video news releases).
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
- Possess unrestricted work authorization.

- Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship.
- The approximate dates of this internship are January 2025 through June 2025.
- Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work.
