This position reports to Senior Director, Suspended Access. It provides leadership to Spider channel sales and distribution functions nationally in pursuit of assigned revenue, customer service, and P&L goals. The incumbent will be responsible for driving breakthrough improvements in the field operations through use of technology, skilled resources and six sigma/lean Manufacturing methodologies. The incumbent will also lead development of standard work procedures and reporting mechanisms to drive efficiencies and improvements in Customer Satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Lead activity of researching, designing, developing, implementing and managing breakthrough strategies such as call centers and regional service and distribution centers.
- Direct activities and personnel of call centers.
- Create Standard Work Procedures and tools that improve information and material flow through the field. Train and monitor progress across branch locations to ensure compliance to Standard Work.
- Coach and manage theArea Directorsin all areas related to continuous improvement, implementation of new tools and customer satisfaction.
- Lead efforts to develop strategic and annual operating plans from the Operations perspective, including working closely with VP to set targets for improvement and capital expenditures.
- Lead and own fleet logistics programs to include development of 3 PL or like vendors, fleet and asset management, and PSI process.
- Drive overall Operations performance to meet and exceed Spider Operating Plan profitability and working capital measures including branch inventory.
- Incumbent will be responsible for overall dashboard metrics for Operations.
- Develop field performance indicators and tools to provide AD’s current information to drive top performance.
- Keep abreast of related industry trends and technology.
- Work closely with VP to prepare monthly Operating Review metrics and analysis.
- Create “new ways” to look at the business. Find best practices and create plans to implement germane ones throughout the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations management, or related field experience
- Computer literacy including MS Office and database applications and analysis. Knowledge of JD Edwards (Mandatory), and DataCubes.
- Master of Business Administration or Engineering is preferred.
- Lean leadership, Toyota Performance, ISO compliant processes or equivalent training a strong plus.
- 10 years’ experience in sales and/or operations management.
- Multi-branch leadership or management of geographically dispersed personnel
- Suspended scaffolding experience a plus.
- Highest degree of ethical behavior.
- Technical aptitude, including ability to understand and clearly communicate company’s products and applications.
- Ability to motivate all levels of internal and external customers.
- Strong leadership characteristics to inspire confidence in company’s capabilities with employees and colleagues.
- Travel as necessary to implement or monitor programs.
