Job Overview
This position reports to the Executive Vice President, Global Development, Segment Planning & Finance within the Disney Experiences segment. This position will provide financial and strategic support to Disney Parks International (DPI) Senior Leadership, as well as the site leaders around the world with specific focus around growth in the Asia region. Additionally, they will lead the Disneyland International (DLI) Finance team that oversees financial integration of the international sites. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who possesses strong financial acumen, a global perspective, and comprehensive strategic, interpersonal, communication, project management and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead the DLI finance team managing financial relationships between TWDC and the Oriental Land Company (OLC) in Japan and with our joint venture (JV) partners in Hong Kong and Shanghai
- Review and execute service contracts on behalf of DLI
- Coordinate and consolidate key Finance projects (e.g., AOP, LTP, forecasts, Finance transformation) across the entire DPI portfolio
- Influence and coordinate Finance teams across different locations and time zones globally to ensure projects meet timelines and deliverables
- Identify, consolidate, and share best practices among the various sites to optimize the overall international parks portfolio
- Provide commercial, financial, and strategic support for DPI Senior Leadership, including the President of DPI
- Serve as key liaison between international site finance teams and core segment and corporate teams as appropriate on matters related to earnings releases, communications strategy, and financial performance and outlook, as well as major strategic and expansion initiatives
- Provide financial support in the management of non-traditional businesses (i.e. Location Based Entertainment businesses)
- Identify and track key financial performance metrics for the organization to identify new opportunities for continued growth and development
- Serve as a resource for the Asia teams, and provide strategic project support, as they work through “Turbocharge Growth” for DX across the world. This will include providing counsel on pro forma development, commercialization/monetization opportunities for new projects, leveraging benchmark data to influence input assumptions to ensure aggressive, yet achievable, projections, etc.
- Maintain strong working relationships and serve as a strategic thought and integration partner to business unit senior Finance leaders, and key internal partners, including Marketing & Sales, Commercial Functions, Digital/Technology, Operations, Finance, Global Development, Lines of Business, Walt Disney Imagineering, Legal, etc.
- Execute ad hoc initiatives to enhance integration across the overall Global Development, Segment Planning & Finance organization
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 7 – 10 years of Professional Experience, preferably in Finance, Business Development, Revenue Management, or a strategic function
- Deep understanding of the theme park business and operations, with a particular focus on the unique qualities of each individual site
- Highly detail-oriented, strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and adjust quickly to shifting priorities and ambiguity
- Strong planning, scheduling, and organization skills with the ability to drive projects to completion as a self-starter
- Strong written, presentation and oral communication skills for developing high-level presentations for senior executive audiences and for clarity of messaging
- Excellent analytical, commercial, diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence in the absence of direct control
- Ability to conceptualize innovative solutions for complex business problems
- Ability to assess complex business landscapes and translate those concepts into easily understood and actionable plans
- Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments, countries and cultures
- Possesses a global mindset and cultural sensitivity
- Demonstrated strong leadership abilities and experience
- Demonstrated ability to network extensively and build successful relationships internally and externally at all levels
- Flexibility regarding time zones for meetings / calls and the potential for international travel (infrequent)
- Relevant language skills and international experience would be a plus
This role will be based in Glendale, CA with occasional time spent in Anaheim, CA.
The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $175,700 and $241,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
